Chronic Disease Management

Parkinson’s is a brain disease the affects the body and how it moves. Early symptoms include tremors, a shuffling gait, and an overall slowing of physical movement. Exercise has been shown to help slow the progression of Parkinson’s, especially early in the disease.

At the Y, our Chronic Disease Management programs are designed for all levels of the disease. Our programs are formatted to help improve the physical, cognitive, and emotional side effects. We also support and encourage the caretakers and they are welcome to observe and/or participate.
