Swim Lessons: Parent-Child (ages 6 mos-3 yrs)
Spending regular quality time together as a family is one of the best ways to improve your family’s health & well-being. The Sewickley Valley YMCA creates opportunities for the family to come together – even in the pool.
The Parent-Child Swim lessons are special because they teach children and parents early in their relationship. Parents and guardians are given guidance on how to develop their children’s abilities and will participate in age-appropriate activities. Together, you and your child will explore a new environment and build skills that add to their growth and development.

Stage A: Water Discovery Parent/Child
Stage A, Water Discovery introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment. Accompanied by a parent/guardian in the water, children are encouraged to explore, enjoy, and learn about the water. Swim diaper required (available at the front desk for $1).
Class held in the warm pool.

Stage B: Water Exploration Parent/Child
In Stage B, children explore the water through body positions, floating, and blowing bubbles. With in-water parent/guardian guidance, children are developing fundamental safety and aquatic skills.
